East Staffordshire Borough Council is undertaking a consultation on proposals to make small changes to the policy determining who gets social housing in the borough.
The key changes proposed, include:
• Removal of the alternative ranking criteria in respect of larger properties, these properties will now be allocated on the same criteria as other ordinary properties.
• Simplification of the alternative ranking criteria for rural properties.
Councillor Raymond Faulkner, Deputy Leader for Environment and Housing, said: “Whilst the proposed changes are only minor, it is necessary for the Council to consult with the public. The review of the policy has been undertaken in conjunction with Trent & Dove Housing and other housing associations who provide housing across the borough.”
The consultation document can be found on the 'Apply for Housing' webpage.
