Volunteers across East Staffordshire are putting the finishing touches to the three local entries into the 2021 Heart of England in Bloom Awards.
The entries include: Burton in the Small City category; Uttoxeter in the Town category; and Winshill in the Urban Community category.
The local entries, maintained by volunteers, with support from East Staffordshire Borough Council, will be looking to make it 13 consecutive gold awards.
In addition to the three Heart of England In Bloom entries, a total of 17 projects, parks and open spaces will be judged at part of the It’s Your Neighbourhood Awards.
Councillor Bev Ashcroft, Deputy Leader for Leisure, Amenities and Tourism, said: “Both Burton and Uttoxeter have beautiful floral displays which always get very high marks on the judging tour. As important as these displays are, it is the involvement of the local community that allows Burton and Uttoxeter to consistently be scored so highly. We are keeping our fingers crossed that everyone’s efforts will be rewarded again this year.”
