Council Review of Public Space Protection Orders

East Staffordshire Borough Council has recently undertaken a comprehensive consultation regarding existing Public Space Protection Orders, with additional spaces having been identified for the control of dogs and the consumption of alcohol.

The recent changes to the Council’s Public Space Protection Orders allows for the Community and Civil Enforcement Team to ensure those who break the laws around dog related issues and the public consumption of alcohol are held accountable, with Fixed Penalty Notices being issued when necessary.

Cllr Bernard Peters, Cabinet Member for Communities and Housing Standards, said: “The Council has a zero tolerance approach towards these issues and we are committed to ensuring public spaces remain safe and accessible to the public.”
