East Staffordshire Borough Council has issued £4.4m worth of Rebate payments to more than 29,000 Council Tax payers eligible for the Council Tax Energy Rebate of £150 per household.
Cllr Bernard Peters, Cabinet Member for Communities and Housing Standards said: “We are now inviting all eligible Council Tax payers who have not yet received their Rebate to complete our online form so that we can issue their payments as soon as possible. Letters are being sent to relevant Council Tax payers, however applications can be made now via our website at https://www.eaststaffsbc.gov.uk/council-tax/energy-rebate.”
Council Tax payers that live in properties with a Council Tax Band of E, F, G, or H aren’t entitled to this payment unless they meet the criteria of the Council’s Discretionary Rebate scheme. Further details are available on our website at https://www.eaststaffsbc.gov.uk/council-tax/energy-rebate.
