East Staffordshire Borough Council has taken delivery of its first of five fully electric vans in the first steps in the authority’s commitment to tackling the climate emergency.
The Council has purchased a total of five fully electric vans, which will be used across a number of Council services, including Community & Civil Enforcement, Facilities Management, and Waste Management.
Cllr Raymond Faulkner, Cabinet Member for Environment and Climate Change, said: “The introduction of these electric vehicles is a great example of East Staffordshire Borough Council’s commitment to combatting climate change. With aims of making the Council’s actions and operations climate neutral by 2040, electric vehicles such as these will go a long way in reducing local emissions.”
